The Doors of Mercy is an ancient icon belonging to the Greek Catholic Church and is still kept in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Yaroslav in the Pereymsko-Warsaw Archdiocese of the UGCC in Poland. The Yaroslavl icon "Doors of Mercy" is considered miraculous and crowned with the crowns of St. Pope John Paul II in 1996.
The iconiscreated on a traditional wooden base with set oflevkas, a chalk-based natural glue, and a painted background. The icon is printed on a silk canvas and the final details are hand-painted by the iconographer. High-quality icon, with bright colors and the icon, seems like a hand-painted icon.
